Inspired to take my Aurora Quilt pattern and turn it into a Crochet Blanket was how the Merryweather Blanket was born. This Crochet blanket is like nothing you have seen before – this is not your Grandmother’s crochet!
Half Square Triangle Granny Squares are the star of this design. This blanket can be made in so many colour combinations, colour order in a rainbow, use an Ombre effect, make it scrappy or even two toned.

Stitches used - Magic ring, single crochet, double crochet, double crochet decrease, changing yarn colour, Mattress stitch join. Crab Stitch border.
My Blanket is made using 4ply, DK (100% Superwash Merino) yarn. The requirements reflect the totals I used for this project based off my tension and hook size.
Size - Finished Blanket size 52in x 52in (132cm x 132cm).

Beautiful Quilt Pattern
I was so excited to find this pattern. I haven't started sewing quilts but was looking for a pattern to knit or crochet. This is perfect and the color selections are so cool. Just love everything about it.

I love the creativity of this pattern and that it coordinates with Jemima’s Aurora quilt. As someone who is primarily a knitter and newer to crochet, I’ve found that Jemima’s full color instructions as thorough and easy to follow.

Great crochet blanket pattern
I absolutely loved making this blanket using this pattern. It’s the perfect mix of crochet and quilting design. The directions were clear, the pattern is fun and it makes a great keepsake blanket. I used dk weight but you could easily make this with worsted for a bigger, heavier blanket. I also liked how portable this project was because you can make the squares in batches and then seam them together.
